Production Information – This is an unpaid community theatre production.

Musical Melody is a brand-new show coming to Garrick Theatre. Featuring hits from all the well-known musicals, fantastic dance numbers and a bit of comedy. An all-round good time will be had by all. (Please note all musical numbers will be performed to backing tracks).

Auditions: Friday 27th & Saturday 28th of February at Garrick Theatre, Meadow Street, Guildford. Video auditions will be accepted until 5pm Saturday 28th February.

Performance Dates: Preview night: 15th April, 16th – 19th April, Matinee: Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th April. Bump out: Monday 20th April.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be 3 days a week at Garrick Theatre, Guildford. Days to be determined based on cast availability.

General Audition requirements
– Please prepare a song of your choice from a musical, 1:30 – 2 minutes in length.
– Please learn as much of the jazz choreography as possible (we will also go through it at the audition). A tap routine will also be learned at the audition.

– Please bring a backing track, current CV and headshot
– Please bring appropriate dance shoes and a water bottle
– Please wear appropriate clothing for dancing.
– Colour blind casting
– Auditions will be held in hourly blocks in group auditions.

Intimacy & Physical Storytelling Policy
This production will follow best-practice intimacy standards consistent with contemporary theatre practice.

All intimacy will be:
– Clearly choreographed and rehearsed.
– Fully consented to by all performers
– Non-graphic and appropriate to the style of the show
– Adjustable to performer comfort levels

Performers will:
– Be informed of intimacy requirements prior to casting.
– Have the right to establish, revise, or withdraw boundaries.
– Never be required to perform intimacy without prior agreement.
